Bernadette Sargeant is an attorney with the knowledge, experience, perceptiveness and sound judgment to handle a variety of matters capably and efficiently. Throughout the course of a 24-year career, Ms. Sargeant has been the lead attorney in over one hundred trials, court hearings and administrative proceedings.  She has briefed and argued complex motions and appeals in the District of Columbia’s trial and appellate courts as well as local and federal agencies.

Ms. Sargeant has conducted complex and sensitive investigations throughout her career, both in her private practice and during her tenures with the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Professional Responsibility and the House Ethics Committee. In her law practice, Ms. Sargeant has conducted numerous internal investigations involving alleged violations of employment law and internal codes of conduct for corporations and other organizations. She has also provided Congressional ethics compliance advice to private entities and individuals..

Ms. Sargeant is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and New York. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and of Bryn Mawr College.
